I will laugh my ass off if Judge Gordon was to make that ruling, just for the horrified look on both Frank and Jamie's faces. If one is going to swear by the MPA, as the gold standard, Jamie has to pay back a huge amount of the money that she and Frank took out of the Dodgers, given technically, the money was not her to use for private jets, hairdressers, etc, they were technically, loans from Frank's business, (Much like Frank has to pay an obscene amount of Capital Gain taxes if he sells the Dodgers) Ditto that many of the houses that Jamie bought in Southern California, or remodeled, was from money from the Dodgers, and she probably has to pay it back, if the MPA is looked upon as written in stone.
No, since it's behind closed doors, but believe me I would love to mock Jamie's attorney, Dennis Wasser, to his face for his ignorant remark, "The Dodgers are a cash cow. There's plenty of money to go around for both parties to live very comfortably" by yelling out "Larry King is a cash cow!", in reference to another one of his divorcing clients.
I just realized I had accidentally closed this thread since Post #47.

It's about time the stadium crew stops playing "Don't Stop Believin" in the bottom 8th inning and go with a more appropriate theme song by Journey for this cluster**** of a season.
McCourt divorce trial begins with a paper trail - MLB - Yahoo! Sports
Just shoot me in ****ing face when it happens. It’s really all about the Dodgers, whether Frank McCourt is sole owner (as some of the MPAs stipulate) or shares them with Jamie McCourt (as others do), and whether the Dodgers will remain in the McCourt name no matter how the case is decided. And then, possibly, appealed. For, sigh, years.

Jamie's attorneys wasted no time breaking out their hopeful smoking gun--the MPA specifically excluding the Dodgers.

cute, Wasser. real cute.Dennis Wasser's opening line for Team Jamie: "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive."
McCourts face off in divorce court over ownership of the L.A. Dodgers | L.A. NOW | Los Angeles Times
At issue are the two different versions of a post-marital property agreement that the McCourts signed that divided their properties.
Everyone agreed there was a switch of crucial documents outlining who owned what, said Jamie McCourt's attorney, Dennis Wasser. But was it a "clerical error," as Frank McCourt's lawyers maintain, or deception, as Wasser argued?
The two versions could not be more different. One says the Dodgers are Frank McCourt's sole property. The other says they are not.
Josh Fisher: Evidence as to the current value of assets will be excluded. Jamie's expert witness on legal ethics will not be allowed.
molly_knight: Frank is totally winning right now, guys.
Frank's lawyer: I honestly believe a junior high student could understand the effect of the MPA
Susman: "jamie is trying to become the first spouse ever in the state of California to invalidate an MPA she proposed."
Josh: According to Frank's side, the MPA error was "insignificant and innocuous." If true, we wouldn't be here, though, right?
Dodger Divorce: The McCourt Divorce: A Viewer's Guide.
Susman is Frank's trial lawyer, a veteran litigator whose main claim to fame is that he can probably argue better than you, regardless of the topic. Not surprisingly, they are tied 1-1 in cases against each other. This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.Boies is Jamie's trial lawyer..not unlike his counterpart Susman, chief skill is his ability to win just about any argument, regardless of field.
Ugh, so which version of the MPA does Judge Gordon accept, the Massachusetts one that says "inclusive" or the California one that says "exclusive"? Or does it not matter at all, argues Susman?
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/dodg...r-divorce.htmlSusman also said that the agreement was clearly intended to protect creditors from seizing the couple's homes should any business assets falter. It would be absurd, he said, to consider an agreement that excludes rather than includes the business assets as Frank's sole property.
