He can't hit worse than Gary "HGH" Bennett and more importantly, bringing him back on the 10 year anniversary of the trade that will live in infamy might be the Dodgers' last chance to convince him to go to Cooperstown with a blue LA hat instead of a gay orange NY hat.

NY hats are BLUE, and he will likely go in as a Met whether you bring him back or not. He played more years in NY, brought us to a World Series, and was the face of our team. He broke the Catcher HR record in NY, and he had more HR and RBI with the Mets (220 HR, 655 RBI with the mets--177 HR and 563 RBI with the Dodgers). He has to go in as a Met.

Hes a Marlin for life, case closed. In all seriousness though, I would go in as a Dodger if it were my decision. He had most of his better years there and was more of the Dodger's franchise player, as opposed to NY where he was more of a puzzle piece.

Did you just call Mike Piazza a puzzle piece on the Mets? Who did he have? Timo Perez, Benny Agbayani, Jay Payton, Rey Ordonez? On the Dodgers, he had a good Eric Karros, Gary Sheffield, a good Raul Mondesi, and some other stars. If anything, he was more the face of the Mets. I mean, Edgardo Alfonzo, Robin Ventura, and John Olerud are nothing compared to the guys he had in LA.

Based off the reception he received in Shea Stadium when the Padres went there in 2006 I'd say he was more than a "puzzle piece" for the Mets.

He is the only man in history to receive two standing ovations in a single game on the road. He got one at the announcement of the starting lineups in the 2nd game of that series, and then he got a curtain call after HITTING A HOMERUN AT SHEA AGAINST THE METS. Not to mention the HR after 9/11.
