    Dodgers Spring Training Notes

Kuroda made his U.S. debut against the Braves and allowed just 1 base hit in 2 innings pitched. Keep the groundballs coming, Keroppi, er, Hiroki.

And Loaiza and Greg Miller got shelled.

At least the Dodgers didn't make any errors. Braves had 3.

Errors certainly don't help Javy Lopez's chances on making the team.

No it doesn't and it was a stupid error at that. Throwing to 2nd base to catch a base stealer when no one was covering the base. Must of been a missed sign somewhere.

Javy Lopez is pretty old. It could be Alzheimer's.

Watched part of the game...Kuroda looked good
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

The best part of the signing of Kuroda is that it was our good assistant G.M. (not the woman who used to work for the Yankees) who gave the thumbs up, and not the G.M.

Schmidt is recovering from shoulder surgery. He has complained of shoulder fatigue since arriving at camp and will not be ready for Opening Day if the problem continues any longer.
I've always liked Furcal. Hopefully it won't be anything serious.

Sabean keeps looking like a genius for not resigning Schmidt.

It sucks for us that Colletti is learning his latest lesson from his Jedi Master Sabean the hard way.

PHOENIX -- Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Nomar Garciaparra will likely miss the season opener because of a broken bone in his right hand.

Although Garciaparra would not put a timetable on his return, manager Joe Torre said he "does not anticipate" him being ready for Opening Day and added the two-time AL batting champion could start the season on the disabled list.
With Andy LaRoche out until May or June and Tony Abreu nursing his butt, Blake Dewitt is in the driver's seat.

Believe it or not, it makes more sense to have Pierre bat ahead of Furcal. That way, Pierre isn't in a position in which his weak choppers can result in ground in double plays, i.e. two outs, and therefore, negating the possibility for Furcal to score a run.

Why not just sit Pierre and play Ethier
