If the Royals are truly interested in Hu, then I don't see why Colletti shouldn't be jumping all over this by now. Saito is hurt and the rest of the bullpen is iffy besides Broxton. Furcal remains the shortstop for the next two seasons, so there's no room in the lineup for Hu.The Los Angeles Dodgers appear to be the front-runners for Kansas City Royals' closer Octavio Dotel.
In return for Dotel, the Royals want a position player who is close to the majors. Dodgers Class AAA second baseman Tony Abreu probably is out of reach, but Class AAA shortstop Chin-Lung Hu could be a possibility.
The Cleveland Indians also want Dotel, but apparently are not willing to meet the Royals' price.

This guy says it best:
They absolutely need him. Their bullpen is a mess right now. They had Roberto Hernandez pitching in the 8th the other day!!! Even Derek Lowe had to throw an inning yesterday. Hu looks like the real deal, but it's not like the Dodgers can't afford to give him up. I'm sure they'll have the money to sign someone to replace Furcal if he does leave for some reason. I would definitely do this deal. Dotel-Broxton-Saito to end the game would be killer.
