Takashi SaitoRHPOutJul 21ShoulderDay-to-DayAlthough it was reported that he was available, Takashi Saito was held out of a save chance Saturday with right shoulder tightness. Jonathan Broxton ended up throwing two scoreless innings for the save. Saito apparently is day-to-day.
Chin-Hui TsaoRHPDLJul 15ShoulderOut IndefinitelyDodgers placed RHP Chin-Hui Tsao on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain. Tsao was largely responsible for blowing what seemed like a pretty comfortable lead in Saturday's game against the Giants and just didn't seem to have the same stuff since coming off the DL June 30 that he did at the beginning of the year. As a result, his shoulder has him on the DL for a second time.
Randy WolfSPDLJul 4ShoulderLate JulyIf Randy Wolf (shoulder) is pain-free after Friday's light bullpen session, he will make a rehab start next week at Single-A Inland Empire. "Obviously, I want it to be faster," Wolf said. "It's hard being on the DL. But I understand that you don't want to rush back into it." Wolf will throw 20 pitches in his first session from a mound since feeling pain in his shoulder. The Dodgers hope Wolf can return from the disabled list around August 1.
Jason SchmidtSPDLJun 18ShoulderOut IndefinitelyJason Schmidt had surgery Wednesday to repair a torn labrum, an inflamed bursa and a frayed biceps tendon in his right shoulder. It comes as no surprise that the damage was severe. Schmidt will miss the rest of the season. The Dodgers expect him to be ready to pitch next spring, but only time will tell if he'll regain his stuff. At this point, the Dodgers would have to be pleased if he's just a solid third starter in the final two years of his three-year, $47 million contract.
