Top Prospect Trout called up

With Peter Bourjos hobbled by a hamstring injury, the Angels will promote Double-A Arkansas' Mike Trout for Friday's game.
The No. 2 prospect by Baseball America, Trout is a five-tool player with tremendous upside. He carries a .330/.422/.544 Double-A batting line this season, along with nine homers and 28 steals. His short-term staying power will hinge on two potential hurdles: starting every day in a crowded outfield, and transitioning from Double-A to major league pitching. But the Angels would not promote him just to sit on the bench.

Quite the jump for the young lad but I am anxious to see what he can do. I have read too many arguments on just who should be the #1 prospect, Harper or Trout, so I'm ready to see if he can live up to the hype. Angels fans have to be excited to hear this. Let's just hope he does a lot better than Bourjos.

Let's just hope they keep him off the roads at night following a game, lest they have another Nick Adenhart type story.

Trout is being sent back down to AA after hitting just .163/.213/.279 with 1 HR.

Even though he's still very young, hopefully this cup of coffee that didn't produce many results doesn't affect him much. In other words, hopefully he's not another Dallas McPherson, Brandon Wood, or etc.
