Another classic case of being a AAAA player. I think another team should take a chance on him and teach him some plate discipline. A 153/13 K/BB ratio is beyond pathetic!! The Angels gave him every shot to win a job but he fell flat on his face. If I'm a team who is weak at 3B or SS and have the personnel to embed plate discipline in his brain, I'm taking a chance on him. Wood is 26 years old.Angels designated INF Brandon Wood for assignment.
The Angels plan to activate Erick Aybar from the disabled list Wednesday, so Wood gets the boot. The former top prospect has a .168 batting average over his first 493 major league plate appearances to go along with an ugly 153/13 K/BB ratio, so he has no business being on a big-league roster right now. It will be interesting to see if another team takes a chance on him.
