I don't have any sympathy for a person like this. He got behind the wheel impaired and he knew it. He needs to get the book thrown at him.

As one that met Nick Adenhart when he played in the minors, I'll tell you that he was a really nice kid. I was saddened to hear about his death. The trial will bring out the truth of the situation and the laws will govern the sentence the perpetrator will receive, if he is indeed found to be guilty (remember, presumption of innocence until guilt is proven in a court).

The dude was found guilty of three counts of murder. Tough jury. I still think it's manslaughter even though the prosecutors opted not to put it on the table.

If this was his first DUI, i think the jurors would have gone a different way but it wasn't.

Sure. Get drunk, go behind the wheel fully aware of the potential dangerous (this was also not his first offense), and end three peoples lives and then we'll let him off easy and say it was manslaughter.

He deserves to be in jail for life. It was murder. You can't say "Oh well he didn't try to kill anybody." Going out on the road drunk is just as bad.

Gallo was sentenced to 51 years, practically life in prison for him.

But here's a relevation: the girl in the other car with Adenhart was also drunk behind the wheel. UPDATED: Autopsy Report: Adenhart Driver Also DUI - Orange County News - Navel Gazing

So while Gallo is still at fault for running a red light and killing three people in the other car, everything that's been said about going out on the road drunk didn't apply solely to Gallo.
