HOUSTON (AP)—Chicago Cubs first baseman Derrek Lee has rejected a trade to the Los Angeles Angels, saying he prefers to finish the season with his team.

Lee is having a tough season, batting just .248 with 11 home runs and 44 RBIs. But his Gold Glove defense would have been a welcome addition to an Angels roster that already has used six players at first base since Kendry Morales broke his leg jumping on home plate after his walkoff grand slam on May 29. The list includes catcher Mike Napoli and second baseman Howie Kendrick.
