They withdrew their offer, believed to have been $160 million over 8 years. Good luck with Kendry Morales replacing Tex's production.

And Brandon Wood!

So now Boston, NY and LAA are out of it? I smell bullshit.
Boston is very much still involved, they just called Boras' bluff. Scott Boras has been getting burnt bad the past couple of seasons, I think owners are really standing up against him and his ridiculous antics. It will be interesting to see which team Boras and Tex go crawling too.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett
I can't see the Yankees giving 8 years and 20 million per. I also can't see him wanting to go to the Orioles or Nationals. I still say he ends up in Boston.
I was a little upset when I saw this earlier.
"For someone who was never meant for this world, I must confess I'm suddenly having a hard time leaving it. Of course, they say every atom in our bodies was once part of a star. Maybe I'm not leaving... maybe I'm going home."
I heard one rumor that the Angels could ask about Carlos Delgado as a DH if they weren't gonna get Tex....but I can't imagine that happening.
The yankees might as well cave in, if they know Boston is still in the hunt. Doesn't hurt that Teixeira would be great protection for ARod and... he can actually play defense at 1B. If you're going to over pay, wildly over pay, might as well do it on a pretty good player. Of course it really makes no sense for Baltimore or Washington, Baltimore would struggle just to stay ahead of Toronto, let alone contend in the East.

Orioles have some good talent in that farm. Don't see why it would be pointless for them to get him.

I think that the Orioles should want to get Tex, but I would be afraid that the salary that he sucks up would prevent the Orioles from signing future big free agents. Yes, their farm is damn solid, but they will need to be able to bring in at least one other established player to solidify the team and bring in fans.
Oh so the O's shouldn't sign a guy for eight years based on the other teams? That is retarded logic. According to you, the O's should do nothing. Why not sign the guy and build around him for the next few seasons and try and build a winner? If its the $$$$$ system, shouldn't the O's spend $$?
That's insane Reefer? Bringing in good players is going to help them win? NEVER!
