There is absolutely no reason whatsoever, that if a pitcher is the most valuable player in the league, that he can't win MVP.

I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
Ah, give me something clever to say here.
I have no problem with Eck winning the award because he had an amazing year and there was no other real choice for MVP. There were though better choices for Cy Young.
There are too many awards as it is. No need for more. We don't need to give awards to everyone. We're going to end up with the Award for the Best Hitter in the NL East, the Award for the Best Hitter in the NL Central, etc. ENOUGH!
Does anyone really care about the Silver Slugger? I know I sure don;t care. I get amused at seeing who wins for pitchers but that's about it.
There is a Hank Aaron Award.
If your going to give AL pitchers MVPs, then dont ****ing discriminate guys like David Ortiz for the MVP because he's a DH, I love the voters/fans logic against Ortiz, "He doesn't play defense" well boo ****ing hoo, pitchers don't hit either!
Depends on a voter's definition of valuable. I don't think pitchers should be omitted from the ballots but also don't think pitchers should be MVPs. Only in the rare cases should they win, like in 1992 when there was no worthy position player. Its not like this happens all the time.
And the Hank Aaron Award is for the best hitter in each league.
