ARGH!! I was skeptical about him so far this season. He hadn't seemed....right. Hard to believe it is only his second trip to the DL since 2000, seems like he gets injured more than that.......
Colon to DL

Carrasco started in Colon's spot today. He only went 3 innings while giving up 3 earned runs.
This is really going to hurt the Angels. Man, the injury bug is apparent around the MLB right now isn't it?
Yup. Damn shame when I heard about this injury. Angels surely going to miss his pitching, IMO. Hopefully he comes back pitching better than he has been this season.
Carrasco is starting for Colon again tonight.
This is baffling. Colon keeps himself in such good shape i couldn't imagine a DL stint from him....

shouldn't Colon be coming off the DL soon?
This thread should have been titled "Colon Cleansing"

seriously, RDR, is he coming back soon? What's the update?

Colon alert: Scioscia said he was pleased with right-hander Bartolo Colon's first workout off a mound on Friday.
"I was very encouraged by the way the ball was coming out of his hand," the manager said of the 2005 Cy Young Award winner, who has been on the disabled list since April 16 with an inflamed right shoulder.
Scioscia reemphasized a point he made before Friday's game -- that Colon's workout program will be gradual and now is in every-other-day mode -- and added, "If at any point along the way he needs to repeat a step in the progression, we'll be sure to do that."
So obviously they are taking their time with him so as to get him completely healthy before bringing him back.......

Has he given his Cy Young to Johan Santana yet?
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Angels are expecting the return of Bartolo Colon soon, possibly by Sunday.
Colon did not suffer any setbacks following Tuesday's 82-pitch outing and also maintained his velocity over the 4 2/3 innings, when he allowed two runs on five hits and two walks pitching for the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees.
"He felt great coming out. We'll see where he is in the next couple of days," manager Mike Scioscia said. "It'll be Sunday or Monday, one of those days."
Jeff Weaver is scheduled to start Sunday while Ervin Santana's turn is Monday, and neither pitcher is likely to get moved out of the rotation. A more likely candidate to get bumped is Jered Weaver, despite his strong showing at the Major League level.
"There are a lot of things going into the decision that we have to consider," Scioscia said. "We're going to take a look at organizational depth and the makeup of our rotation. We'll look how guys are pitching now and overall performance."
Jeff Weaver had a rough start this season but has settled down over his last four starts while Santana is quickly becoming a fixture in the rotation. The Angels could opt to move Jered Weaver to the bullpen, but they'd rather keep him starting. He's making it a tough decision, though.
"His stuff can play in the big leagues and the confidence that he is getting in the big leagues will allow him to relax and make pitches," Scioscia said.
Colon went on the disabled list April 16 with inflammation in his right shoulder. The right-hander suffered a tear in the shoulder last October.
