Royals activated C Salvador Perez from the 60-day disabled list.
Coming back from surgery to repair a left lateral meniscus tear, Perez batted .340/.365/.380 over 12 rehab games to convince the Royals he was ready. The 22-year-old hit .331/.361/.473 with three homers over 39 games last season for Kansas City

With the Royals just 4.5 games out, this is a big addition. Quintero has an OPS under .600 and Pena has one just over .600. I think he could be a big boost and help this Royals team stay near the top of the division til the trade deadline where they could add a piece or two.
