Jeremy Affeldt isn't the only Royals reliever who intrigues the Marlins.

They have also expressed interest in closer Mike MacDougal. The lanky right-hander has a team-high 12 saves, is making just $352,000 and won't be eligible for salary arbitration for another full season. ...

The Marlins optioned right-hander Chris Resop to Triple-A Albuquerque and recalled right-hander John Riedling.

Depends if they can get something nice for MacDougal. There is no reason to trade a guy making the minimum with MLB stuff and ineligible for salary arbitration from a team who is just bad at this point. He could be a good MR in the future for a contender, but until he costs the team more money then they are willing to pay, he should be in a Royal uniform (or a minor league Royal uniform).

Royals will hold out until they get some good spects for MacDougal. This kid was amazing his MPH reaching nearly 100. He should be a decent reliever for the Royals future.

Macdougal and Affeldt should be dealt for anything potentially useful. For all the talk of their "stuff" and "upside", Macdougal has weak control over his great breaking balls, only finding some success this year, and Affeldt has chronic blister and walk issues. The Marlins seem to love mediocre relievers.
