Maybe thats a good thing. Remember that he's been up and down till this point in his career, and maybe he wouldn't have been able to get to this level of performance if he was playing in a bigger city, with more media on him every time he takes the mound.

Now everytime he takes the mound, the other team might as well swing three times, and call it a day.

But it does make me feel good that the Jays did score a run off him. No other team can say they have done that this year.

The Royals have been hyping this guy up for the past few years and he is finally living up to his potential.

The guy is on the freaking cover of SI so I think he is getting his media exposure plus the Royals will be around the top of the Central all year long. Greinke has been the filthiest pitcher I have seen in a long time.

The SI story is great. I hope for both Greinke and the Royals, that he stays in Kansas. With his social anxiety problems, that he has obviously worked on, I think he is someone who could have a long and great career in a town like Kansas City but maybe not in a big city and a $150 million dollar deal. Greinke is a sensitive young man who dances to the beat of his own drummer. He is not pitching for a contract or fame, he is pitching because he wants to and he is one hell of a competitor. Its amazing this is a guy who has casually tossed around the idea of becoming a position player in past years.

It really is amazing to see his game come together the way it has. His stuff really is the complete package and I wish I could have more to add but his start to the season has really left me speechless.

Greinke is guaranteed to be a Royal til at least 2012 unless they trade him. Definitely an ace to build around for the Royals and Greinke could just help the Royals be relevant again like in the late 70's and 80's.

Yeah I know he isn't leaving soon, I just know when there is an ace pitcher with youth and big stuff, the big market teams start to salivate and dream of player X hitting their town. Making baseball important to Kansas City again would be a great thing to see and well deserved for those fans who have had to suffer through some horrible rosters.

Before you get your hopes up too far.

The year Fernando had that 6-0, .33 ERA start. He finished 7-7, en route to a 13-7, 2.48 ERA.

Can the Royals produce enough offense to keep him on this blistering pace?

I don't think Grienke would be as good if he was on a Chicago, New York or LA type of market.
