Royals signed LHP Horacio Ramirez to a minor league contract.
It's hard to believe it's taken this long for Ramirez to get signed. Fortunately, the left-hander wasn't hurting for cash after the always charitable Mariners paid him $460,000 to go away this spring. Ramirez could end up at the back of the Royals' rotation later this year. However, he has very little chance of being an asset as an AL starter.
I too was shocked that it took this long for him to be signed. This could pay off but I doubt it. His health will be the determining factor. Funny they released Maroth and picked up Ramirez
