Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!

Ethier for Bradley and Perez...LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers resolved the Milton Bradley situation on Tuesday, trading the outfielder and infielder Antonio Perez to the Oakland A's for top outfield prospect Andre Ethier, according to a Los Angeles source.
Bradley is recovering from knee surgery and he goes to Oakland hoping to turn the page after a turbulent two seasons in Los Angeles. Perez, a utility infielder with a live bat, was recently sidelined in the Dominican Winter League when he was hit in the face with a page and suffered a small fracture of his left cheekbone.
Bradley posted modest numbers in an injury-marred 2005, with a .290 average, a .350 on-base percentage, 13 homers and 38 RBIs. Perez batted a career-high .297 with 11 steals and 13 doubles.
Ethier, the A's top outfield prospect, was named the Texas League Player of the Year last season, and had a strong Arizona Fall League, hitting .366 with 21 RBIs and a .495 on-base percentage over 23 games.
The trade is the first for new Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti, who appears intent on reshaping the Los Angeles outfield and the roster as a whole.
We'll welcome Bradley in Oakland just like we do everyone else. Keep 'em coming Billy.

CF - Kotsay

where does this leave Jay Payton? he played well for Oaktown last year no?
Since Payton isn't really that good defensively, so he'll probably DH.
not good defensively? really? That's about the only thing he did good in his stint in San Diego.Originally Posted by McKain
Of course, he may have just looked good by comparisson to the guy in Left Field.

Haha.
Seems that way. From what I saw of him last season he was pretty below-average, not to mention he's getting up there in age now to help that defensive drop-off hurry along.
I've always thought of Bradley as a really good fielder. Not much of an arm, but he could cover ground.
Then again, I don't watch him play every day.

hold your horses...the A's aren't done. We're going to sign Frank Thomas, so he will be DH. We have 5 outfielders in Bradley, Kotsay, Swisher, Payton, and Kielty. Chances are Payton will be dealt, but even up to a month ago there were rumors that the Yanks still wanted Kotsay...I hope not.
Payton is good defensively. An outfield of Payton, Bradley, and Kotsay would essentially be an outfield of 3 center fielders. Swisher could DH or play 1st and Johnson could DH, but that is assuming we don't sign Frank Thomas, which all indications are that we will.
The Dodgers got taken by Beane...as good as Ethier has been, he doesn't project to be more than a 4th outfielder. And we have Herrera coming up to replace him. Plus Barton will be a better hitter than Ethier, too. So we didn't really give up much for a starting outfielder and a very useful backup infielder who can play 3rd or 2nd.
And Zito is not going to be traded.
Did you guys clone Kotsay? Can we have one of em back?!Originally Posted by Providence A's

Payton made no errors last year in 122 games (98 started). He only has 19 career errors and the most was 6 in a season. 45 career assists. He's played 8 seasons. Career fielding percentage of .989. Oh, and he's only 33.
yes, I corrected it. I apologize for my malfeasance.
