Padilla is way overpaid and was probably going to be non-tendered. The Phils probably want to give Liriano a shot.

Ricardo Rodriguez wasn't a bad add, he was the Dodgers' top prospect just a few years ago, and should eventually be a solid lower-middle of the rotation starter, if he stays healthy. And they're saving 4-5 mill, so it's all good both ways.
