    a great year? not really. look at his periphial numbers and you would be downright scared. plus his stats the few starts before getting drilled werent good

    Not good? He was 10-3 with a solid ERA until he was drilled. He even came back and had a solid August but September fell apart.

    Confirmed according to WHDH and breaking news on boston.com

    They also got Guillermo Mota for a no-name prospect (good ERA, bad WHIP, low level)

    The Boston Red Sox and Florida Marlins tonight announced a trade in which the Red Sox will receive right-handed pitcher Josh Beckett, third baseman Mike Lowell and righthander Guillermo Mota in exchange for infielder Hanley Ramirez, righthander Anibal Sanchez, righthander Jesus Delgado and righthander Harvey Garcia.

    That's what I got from SOSH.

    I don't like Mota much...but he's still quite a bit better than what the Sox have been throwing out there.

    In the Marlins' plans to improve to the pen, trading Mota is addition by subtraction. Then again, the same goes for every player they trade.
