Thread: Pierre to Cubs

    Pierre to Cubs

ESPN Radio 1000 is reporting that the Cubs are close to acquiring Juan Pierre from the Marlins for a pair of minor leaguers.
No Corey Patterson? We hope the Cubs wouldn't give up Felix Pie for one year of Pierre. Parting with pitching prospects, say Rich Hill along with Sean Marshall or Renyel Pinto, would be preferable.

I just don't see who the Marlins are going to replace Pierre with. Terrible move if it is for two minor leaguers.

Cubs did try to give Patterson and Florida wanted no part of him. Cubs prolly doing their best to avoid giving a top tier prospect. As any indication from the past, cubs prolly don't want to give them any prospect. I believe the last one was that Willis guy, who was only an afterthought in the deal at the time.

His move to Chicago and subsequent exposure to national media will lead to the question that will plague all Cub fans next year: does Juan Pierre have the worst outfield arm in baseball? Or does that distinction belong to Johnny Damon?

    Damon has nothing on Pierre.

still better than patterson. i could live with two middling prospects for pierre. i highly doubt it would be Pie who would be the guy included in the trade.

Now Pierre's overrated? Hilarious! Pierre is an upgrade and is hardly overrated. Damon has a worse arm than Pierre.
