I would rather have Beltran than Manny.....

The first intersport trade of professional sports was competed Monday night, when the New York Football Giants agreed to send FS Brent Alexander and a 2006 6th round pick to the Boston Red Sox of the MLB for LF Manny Ramirez. Ramirez will start at FS for the Giants next week against the 49ers, while Brent Alexander is slated to fill the gaping hole in Center Field for the Red Sox.

Latest Trade rumor
According to baseball sources, trade talks probably will expand to include the Arizona Diamondbacks, who could send third baseman Troy Glaus to the Red Sox in a three-way deal. In exchange for Ramirez, the Angels could send first baseman Darin Erstad and a prospect or two to Boston and additional players and prospects to Arizona.

A representative of Ramirez, due to make $57 million over the next three years, informed Red Sox owner John Henry on Friday that Ramirez wants to be traded, and the outfielder's agent said that the Angels are "the most attractive option" for the outfielder, who in 2005 hit .292 with 45 home runs and 144 runs batted in after batting .308 with 43 homers and 130 RBIs in 2004.

Rex Hudler is the biggest Angels' apologist in the history of man. I wish someone would punch him in the face. I'd be willing to pay $5 for that and it'd be the best $5 I've ever spent. The Angels plan to offer new contracts to television broadcasters Steve Physioc and Rex Hudler...
