    Lugo fails to pass waivers

    Julio Lugo was reportedly placed on waivers by the Devil Rays and claimed by the Yankees.
    Tampa Bay then pulled Lugo back off waivers. The Yankees are believed to have been simply blocking other teams from getting Lugo

    According to the New York Times, the Yankees are interested in signing Kirk Rueter to a minor league contract.
