Update:

Julio Lugo and Aaron Heilman have been added to the proposed three-team deal involving Manny Ramirez, with the Mets getting Lugo to play second base.
Heilman would join the Rays and maybe get a rotation spot. Recent conversations have also involved the Red Sox, rather than the Rays, getting Mets outfielder Lastings Milledge, with Red Sox shortstop Hanley Ramirez going to Tampa Bay instead. It seems unlikely that the megadeal will go down, but even if it doesn't, both the Mets and Red Sox could look to work out smaller trades with Tampa Bay.

The three-team deal that would send Manny Ramirez to the Mets is ''close to dead,'' an official from one of the teams told ESPN's Jayson Stark.
According to the report, the Red Sox are still looking to pick up Aubrey Huff from the Rays for two prospects, perhaps Anibal Sanchez and Kelly Shoppach. Also, the Mets still could attempt to trade for Danys Baez and/or Julio Lugo

One of those prospects almost certainly would be catcher Kelly Shoppach, who unwittingly became a source of controversy earlier in the day when the Red Sox backed out of a trade that would have sent Shoppach and outfielder Adam Stern to Colorado for outfielder Larry Bigbie.

At least the trade existed and was supposed to go down. I'm happy. I like Stern enough and Shoppach as a backup catcher for the Sox to not take Bigbie.

Well I wonder if there are going to be ANY big trades atthis rate. Only these next few hours will tell the future.

There will be at least a few big ones. The market appears to be moving slowly though, probably due in part to Dan O'Brien coming to certain realizations about it.

I'd expect any majors ones to happen tonight(probably after a lot of games) somewhere around 9-Midnight and then again tomorrow the couple hours up until the deadline from say 2-4.
