    Mets looking for Urbina.

Minaya rushed out of the clubhouse after the game with bags in tow. No, he was not going on the road to look for another closer, but if Braden Looper blows any more two-run leads in such spectacular fashion, Ugueth Urbina becomes more attractive.

Looper blowing that game was quite surprising. IIRC he has been pretty stingy with the longball in the past.

I thought it was ironic that they spent all that money on Martinez and Beltran. Then Martinez pitches a gem and Beltran hits a homer and the net result. THEY STILL LOSE. The mets aren't any better off than they were. They just spent a lot of money to replace the money they were spending on Mo Vaughn.

I don't see Urbina going anywhere.

Tigers expect to contend in the AL Central. What part of that does the NY media not understand?

Tigers and contending in the same sentece. I even had to double check .

I suppose the Tigers could use Percival as closer and free up Urbina. Wouldn't shock me. I think the Mets would have to make a nice offer though.

Yeah, but wouldn't you like to have Urbina as a setup guy and Percival as the closer. Tigers are contending for the AL Central and they got a good shot of winning it so I doubt that they will trade them.

This is the team that gave away a future ace for a #5 starter.

I am sure they can give Detroit a deal they can't refuse.

I'm sure the Mets will throw in a few great prospects to get Urbina.

I mean, after they gave up Kazmir for Victor Zambrano (scrub). I can't imagine what they would give for a valuable set-up/closer guy!
    Nobody lookin out for nobody
Maybe we should try and help somebody or be somebody
Instead of being somebody that makes the news
So everybody can tweet about it
And then they start to R.I.P. about it
And four weeks later nobody even speaks about it.

It is way too early for any big trades to happen. I also look for the Tigers to make a run and try to get their fans back.

Even as a Yankee fan, I think the NY media at times think if a NY team wants someone there is some type of obligation from the other team or that will automatically happen. The Yankees have coveted RJ for almost 2 seasons before it happened this winter, which was practically forced by RJ himself.

I think the Mets are looking for more than Urbina

Who wants Urbina after melting down in the eighth inning tonight against the Twins? Urbina was throwing all over the place and he was throwing balls.

Urbina would be a nice set-up man, but he wants to be the closer. He will be traded this mid season. As to the Mets, who knows, like you said, they probably will propose a deal that nobody can reject.
