    Dodgers Dodgers Bolster Bullpen

    According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, the Dodgers are closing in on a three-year, $12 million contract with Matt Guerrier.
    It's not finalized yet, but it sounds like this one will get done. Guerrier has been one of the most under-appreciated relievers in baseball over the past few seasons, but this is a tremendous amount of money to give to a 32-year-old reliever with a declining strikeout rate. The Red Sox were reportedly only willing to give him a two-year deal with a vesting option for a third.
    Not a bad pickup but the years might be one too many. Guerrier has had a good career and has shown durability over the past couple of years, even leading the league twice in appearances. This definitely fills a hole for the Dodgers, damnit!

    Hooray. Three years for a reliever with mediocre career averages of FIP, xFIP, tERA, etc. etc. and a declining strikeout rate.

    Gee, I can't see this one ending badly.
