I'm not sure whether to keep the "rumor" tag or change it to "trade". According to CBSsports.com this deal is near done. Westbrook was scheduled to start today and was scratched.
Westbrook appears headed to St. Louis - CBSSports.com

St. Louis had to get Jake Westbrook... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHA.
Edit: Which means Dave Duncan sprinkles some of that magic dust he has on Westbrook's arm and he goes 7-0 with an era of like 2.50 the last two months.

MLB Network comfirmed the 3 team deal about an hour ago.
2003 Hybrid World Champion (115-47 reg season, 11-4 playoffs)
TBL: Anaheim Angels 2006-present (238-244 regular season, 1 division title)

TSSL: Seattle Mariners 2006-2029, Pittsburgh Pirates 2030-present (209-277, 5 division titles w/SEA, 1 championship w/SEA)
CBSSports changed their headline to just reporting the deal instead of saying "near done" so I'm assuming this is official.

The Pads are a better team today than they were on Wednesday. Ludwick and Tejada will help them offensively.
One question about Tejada though -- will he, as a guy used to playing everyday, be content with a "utility" role? I heard that the Pads are considering giving him a game or 2 a week at 3B and SS. He might be able to play 2B and 1B as well, and might be expected to.

The Cardinals are definitely a better team today. I like Ludwick more than I like Westbrook, but Westbrook will shore up the rotation much more than a Suppan can/has and Slyder is right, Duncan will make another deal with the devil and have a mediocre starter go into ace mode.
.: My Last.fm
Not sure about him being an "ace" (like the Cardinals need another one), but he is an innings eater and knows how to pitch.

Jon Jay pretty much made Ludwick expendable. But I don't think Westbrook will amount to much, even in the NL. I'll be surprised otherwise.

The Pads made a decent deal for Ludwick and the discussion is more about Jake Westbrook going to St. Loo. I guess nobody else here seems to share your enthusiasm, haha. It might have been better for you to keep your orgasm at the UT/SoSD.
I wasn't aware I expessed any form of excitement in this thread.

Am I supposed to believe the intent of the opening post was for informational purpose? B'itch, please.
good point because this is the first and only trade thread i've ever posted.
I'm sure if you had your way, this thread would have been titled a half-mockingly "Classless Padres running up the score in deadline trades", Mr. D.
