Look at how they ****ed up Brandon Morrow.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!

Kind of my thoughts too Saber. In fact, I thought at the time of the deal that the Phillies got a steal when they got Lee. They traded for a Cy Young on the cheap and got him largely on the cheap as so much focus was being given to Halladay. Lee came in and pitched clutch down the stretch. Halladay is better than Lee, but this feels like a move done to get the fans in Philly pumped for next season. Halladay is a big name and definitely gives their rotation a standout ace.
Haven't looked at the deal enough to determine who makes out best, but it seems a bit like going fom luxury sedan brand to another. Sure, it might be better... but it isn't exactly set to redefine your driving experience.
Sad day for Jays fans however (return or not, Halladay was a special player to have a part of the Toronto core.)

The deal for the Phillies boils down to trading one year of Lee for multiple years of Halladay. They couldn't get Lee to sign on to a long term deal, and they tried and failed to dump Fat Joe Blanton's salary in order to fit both aces on their payroll.
6:55pm: J.A. Happ and Joe Blanton took physicals and could be a part of the deal, writes Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press.
6:46pm: "People" tell Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun that Aumont is not a part of the deal (via Twitter).
If I'm Toronto and the best prospect I get is Happ, I got hosed.
Doh, I take back my criticism of Aumont if it has in any way influenced Toronto to take Happ and Blanton instead.
Yea, from what I read it seems Lee wants a Sabathia-type extension. Not sure the Mariners can give him that if they are serious about signing Felix to a long-term deal...unless they plan on dealing him.
Jayson Stark has Aumont going to Philly, which could make Kyle Drabek available for Toronto. This would mean Aumont being Canadian is irrelevant.
I really like this trade if they can add Cliff Lee to go with Felix Hernandez. But the down fall is trying to resign both pitchers. They would still need a middle of the order bat to go with Figgins/Ichiro. Carp isnt the answer, yet.

from the sounds it will be two different trades with no players flipping
happy to hear the Jays may get their wish by getting Drabek

Toronto gets: Kyle Drabek, Michael Taylor, Travis D’Arnaud
Philadelphia gets: Roy Halladay, Phillippe Aumont, Tyson Gillies, Juan Ramirez (he now goes by J.C.), $6 million in cash
Seattle gets: Cliff Lee
If Bedard bounces back healthy, Sea could have a sick 1-3 rotation, Felix, Lee and Bedard.
Yeah, also if Seattle re-signs Erik Bedard.
