And Rotoworld is reporting that this rumor is FALSE.
Sorry for inconvience, boys.
Bradford is saying that someone created a new twitter feed imposing as someone from WEEI, and is responsible for this false claim.
MLBTR is also denying this is happening.

The deal in principle is about what it would take though... doubt we'd go after a lefty starter

Because....? Still banking on Penny, Smoltz, Buchholz, and Dice K are we? Cue crowd laughter.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!

CJ, the Sox only have 2 lefties on the roster. Why wouldn't they go after a lefty to balance the rotation a little more?
looks like the Phillies are close to adding Lee.
Phillies close to acquiring Lee - MLB - Yahoo! Sports
this possible deal would seem to hurt the Jays in their attempt to move Halladay. The deal has not been completed, but the Philadelphia Phillies appear on the verge of acquiring left-hander Cliff Lee(notes) from the Cleveland Indians, according to multiple sources Wednesday morning.
In return, the Indians would receive right-handed pitching prospects Carlos Carrasco(notes) and Jason Knapp and at least two players from a group that includes catcher Lou Marson(notes), shortstop Jason Donald(notes) and outfielder Michael Taylor, according to sources. Carrasco was scratched from his start for Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.
However, a general manager from another team known to have interest in Lee said at 1 p.m. ET: “We’re still hanging around,” an indication the Phillies are still fielding counter-offers.
If Halladay starts today vs the M's. Its highly unlikely he is going to be dealt. That will be a huge tell. Its a brilliant move for the Phils to get Lee.

Guess not...
Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi report that the sides have agreed to a deal that sends Cliff Lee and Ben Francisco to Philly for Jason Knapp, Carlos Carrasco, Jason Donald and Lou Marson. The teams still have to examine medical records for the deal to go through.

and what is that package? and what would Jim Bowden know? he's the GM of the Nationals...they have nothing to do with Halladay. why would his opinion matter?
as I said, it won't happen unless they give up a lot. I don't think they will. Theo loves the farm and his specs. If they're willing to, then it could get done. They just have shown to be reluctant to do that in the past. anything is possible, but if I'm Toronto, then I'm insisting on more from a division rival. anything less, would be unacceptable if I were a Jays fan.
