Some bigger name players were non-tendered today, becoming free agents. If someone could explain non-tendered to me that'd be great.

Non tendered means they weren't offered a contract, and become a free agent, kinda like getting cut, except there's no pay. These are people who are either in their first three years of service, or more likely in years 3-6 in which arbitration goes on, and teams don't want to be saddled with the contract, so they decide to cut the guy loose.

He's just not needed now. He was never that good, his arm is definitely worn, and he won't be completely cheap. We have better younger option to try now. I appreciate what he did, but the time has passed.
