If that rumor is legit, I don't blame Chavez. He has a good reason why he wants out of Oakland. They're no where near contention in the AL West and teams that are in contention could use his bat.
ehhhhhhh, incorrect:

In the SF Chronicle today:
Quote:
Chavez amused: Chavez got a kick out of a column in a Chicago-area newspaper, the Daily Herald, suggesting the A's might trade the third baseman because, "(Chavez) wants out of Oakland so bad that he's the one who apparently is fueling the trade rumor to the Sox.''
Chavez laughed and said, "Yeah, that's why I just signed a $66 million contract to stay here last year, so I can leave. Where does this stuff come from? I don't want to go anywhere near the East Coast, and to me Chicago is the East Coast, anything past Texas.''
A's general manager Billy Beane was outraged by the story, saying, "It's total (garbage.)''
Asked if he had plans to deal Chavez, he said, "Zero. Zero.''

rumors are made for a reason.
Even if Chavez wants out, I cant blame him. If he doesn't, props to him.

yes, to get an article in the paper and to distract from otherwise poor writingOriginally Posted by Reds_fan_4_life

I have him for a long time, and I want him here to be the foundation for Bobby Crosby, Nick Swisher and the rest of our kids." The A's general manager is not pleased that Octavio Dotel turned down the recommendations of four doctors who said he didn't need surgery, but Dotel is gone forever from Oakland. The Huston Street Era as closer has begun.
If Chavez wants out, tell him to go **** himself and start hitting the ball like the Allstar he is.
