He's better than Wes Helms, I guess.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
Ah, give me something clever to say here.
I hate Feliz but hell yeah he's better than Wes ****ing Helms. Who isn't? The Phillies had a combined 11 HRs and 76 RBI from the third base position. Feliz hit 20 HRs and 72 RBI in a pitcher's park last year in a much weaker lineup. Feliz hitting 7th behind Utley, Howard, Burrell and Jenkins gives this lineup more punch. With that comes a lot of double plays too. Plus he and Jimmy Rollins give one of the best left sides of the infield defensively. Since the Phillies aren't going to add any starting pitching, they will have to mash their way to another division title.
I personally am sad to hear this because Philly was mentioned more than once as having interest in Melvin Mora and I would have loved to take a low prospect or tw in exchange for moving Mora out of Baltimore. I can only assume that Feliz will see time at 3B and the Phils no longer have interest in Mora.
He will probably flourish there because he won't be the main threat in the Phils offensive attack. He will probably relax and have a huge year. hahahahahaha... crap, who am I kidding, I am happy for you Giants fans.
Good, now after this signing, maybe the Phillies can focus on their hole at third base.
No more third basemen left.
Brandon Inge could be obtained from the Tigers for some prospects. The Tigers need to rebuild their farm system after the trade for Cabrera and Willis.
I don't think it would take a huge deal to pry him from the Tigers, either.
Feliz could do well in Philly. He has some pop in his bat and is very good defensively. The Phillies are trying to bring some "groundball" pitchers in and he will help in this effort.
