He had a .400 SLG, 2 HRs with the big club last year in 65 ABs.
You have to figure he will have the same adjustment year as any other young stud. I think he is more valued for his defense than his bat even.

Keep in mind, he was not used properly last year either. He is known as a 5-tool OF, seeing this kid play in Tacoma. We could have kept this guy, he was our best hitter in the system. Are we banking on Balentien to be our guy, his defense is subpar and his plate discipline is horrible still.

TBL: Anaheim Angels 2006-present (238-244 regular season, 1 division title)

TSSL: Seattle Mariners 2006-2029, Pittsburgh Pirates 2030-present (209-277, 5 division titles w/SEA, 1 championship w/SEA)
I think your M's are signing Brad Wilkerson to play RF.
Yay, we replace Jose Guillen with a guy who cant stay consistent. We have younger guys to do that. And I'm very sure its either Jones or Balentien, not both, Tillman for sure. But Triunfel is not part of this deal.

Why won't they go ahead and confirm it?Originally Posted by RotoWorld

I’m being told by three different sources that the trade is as close to being done as it can get without an actual deal. May just be a matter of dotting some i’s and crossing some t’s.
What I am getting is that it’s Adam Jones, Chris Tillman, George Sherrill, Tony Butler and Kameron Mickolio going to Baltimore.
So far, no word on anyone but Erik Bedard coming back to Seattle in the deal, and still no word on whether the two sides were allowed to get extension talks started pre-deal.
Press conference likely Tuesday as the teams are probably awaiting physical results for all players involved.
Also... Roberts for Pie and Gallegher... unconfirmed though...
Jones and Markakis will make for a good OF for years to come and hopefully for O's fans it gets Jay Payton out of the starting lineup.
At what point did "Spahn and Sain and pray for rain" become a viable plan for success?
Since Johnson and Schilling pitched their way to a WS win over the Yanks.

Now it is supposedly, Jones, Sherrill, Tillman and Butler for Bedard...
I hope that is the actual deal, that wouldn't be as upsetting as all the horrible "rumors" I was hearing.

I am shocked that Clement isn't part of the deal. It would be huge for the M's to keep him around.
They did, but can you honestly think the back half of that rotation could win a game?

It won't make a difference, because the Mariners won't be in the playoffs anyway.
