Johan a Dodger?

Foxsports.com is reporting a trade rumor that would send former CY Young award winner Johan Santana to the Dodgers in a deal for OF Matt Kemp.

The Dodgers would also send pitching prospect Clayton Kershaw.

Kershaw is regarded as the top pitching prospect in baseball.

The Twins are looking for a young outfielder to possibly replace Torii Hunter.

The Foxsports story reports sources close to the Twins say the offer is being considered by the Dodgers.

If the Dodgers accept the reported offer, they would head into the 2008 season with a projected starting rotaion as follows:

Johan Santana
Derek Lowe
Brad Penny
Chad Billingsley
Jason Schmidt

This is a crazy rumor almost as crazy as the rumor I posted a little while ago with Santana and the Yankees. If the Dodgers actually do pull of this trade then they would have a pretty darn good rotation. Plus this is a risky move if the Twins decide to do this because who knows if Kemp is is going to be a bust or possibly even get hurt... Its hard to give up one of your best prospects but how inticing is it to have Johan Santana the best pitcher in the league in your rotation? Then again this is just a far out rumor that probably won't happen but hey its fun to talk about.

If I was the Twins I would jump all over the deal. Reason being Santana will command over 20 million a year. Polad can't pay that. I mean he is a billionaire and he could. He runs the team as a business. If he does not make money it is a bad year for him.

Anyways I would do this deal in a heartbeat. Then we at least can resign Morneau to the long term deal he deserves.

Yes that is true, but I do feel that there is more to the deal. I would guess that it is just the two main pieces to the trade talks. Your out in Calli any word on this?

There is rumors out of the Mets camp that they would offer Reyes and I want to say Pelfry plus others to get Santana in a Mets uniform. This was on the espn.com rumors section.
