Man, the Pirates games won't be the same without hearing 'Lights Out' in the 9th. Oh well, hopefully LaRoche can keep up with his 2006 numbers. I'm happy with Sharpless-Capps-Torres in the back of the pen, though, so I guess I'm indifferent.

Laroche is streaky & people are aren't realizing how shitty and how many games the bullpen cost us last year. This just makes that group much stronger. I'm still sad to see LaRoche go, but he's replacable.
The Pirates may be among the league leaders in blown saves now that they traded Mike Gonzalez. LaRoche may put up some runs, but don't count on Salomon Torres to not give them back to the other team.
I have a hunch that Torres may do an ok job as the closer this year. He has done many roles for the Pirates in the past. If you really think about it, there are many teams out there whos closer makes their fans nervous on a regular basis as well!!!
His best role is "guy that knocks off Sammy Sosa's helmet."Originally Posted by brewersfan19
