The only reason he didn't sign with the Twins going into last season was because he was concerned about his legs holding up on the turf in the Dome. Skydome's turf is tougher on legs than the Metrodome's is. I don't think this will be a good fit for him.

The Blue Jays are idiots to offer the kind of money they're offering.

They've got money to spend and they need a big bat. What's the problem.

    ... overpaying, that's the problem.

They don't actually have all that much money to spend from most reports - this Thomas deal alone sucks up over half of their projected spending room, and they still need a couple other players and they'll definitely be wanting a pitcher.

the turf in Toronto was re-done a couple of seasons ago, the new turf is called "Field Turf" it's a artificial grass field.

Some of the real life signings look more like signings in my OOTP league. I can't believe anybody would offer Thomas a 3 year deal considering his age and injury history. Obviously he can still hit very well when healthy, but the guy is still nearly ancient. A 3 year deal, especially at $10 mil a year or more, is a bad idea.

At 38 with an injury history even just 2 years is a bad idea. If he was just a couple million a year, not so bad, but you've got to be desperate to sign him for $10 mil a year.

I fully agree, I don't see why the Blue Jays are doing this and for so much money.
