Im not the Genius that traded for Brandon McCarthy. And my name is certainly not John Gibbons...
Just because someone claimed him doesn't mean he is going anywhere. Also, you don't need to put this in two different forums. One is good enough.

my bad, i posted it in the braves forum and then I thought more people would see it in here. Won't happen again.
I'm not a mod but thanks.
http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/NASApp...=.jsp&c_id=atlThere really wasn't reason for Andruw Jones to act surprised when informed on Thursday that the Braves had placed him on the waiver wire. This isn't the first time he's been there and it's no secret that a large percentage of Major Leaguers are put on waivers by their respective clubs during the first few days of August.

this is a non-story... nothing will come of this, the braves will see if the team is willing to mortgage the history of their franchise for andruw, and when theyre not, the braves will pull him back and that will be the end of it.
Waves of players are put on waivers after the trade deadline. They are also routinely claimed to block their trade to other teams. He was probably claimed last year too.
It was probably the Sox.
This is the correct forum to put it under so there is no problem with putting this article in here.
Love it how people make HUGE DEALS over something so routine.

they may have put a claim in, but it goes in order of the worse record...I'm sure a contender with a lower winning % than the Red Sox has got the claim, but as others have said that doesn't mean anything really.Originally Posted by Rufio181
Yep. I'm not going to worry about this until an actual deal is done.Originally Posted by General

The reason why the Braves did this is because he will gain 10-5 trade veto status sometime this month. This is their last chance to trade him without his consent.

White or Red? I know the White Sox have a lot of interest in him.Originally Posted by Rufio181
