According to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, the Red Sox have acquired Jason Johnson from the Indians for cash considerations.
It seems they weren't so impressed with Kyle Snyder after all. The Red Sox are expected to pick up the majority of the approx. $2.2 million remaining on Johnson's contract, but the Indians won't get a player in return. Johnson can act as the club's fifth starter until David Wells and/or Matt Clement gets healthy or someone better can be acquired. Eventually, the Red Sox could try to move him again. Johnson isn't worth owning in AL-only leagues at this time. Jun. 21 - 2:08 pm et
Hey look, he's got an arm and can throw 85 pitches. Sounds good!
