How long have you been doing sim leagues?

Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!
The 2074 MSL NL Gold Glove Recipient at Third Base.
I believe I started OOTP in 08 or 09 with Prov's TSSL as the Padres. It was the year he did the wrestling draft (2015 I believe).
But if you're going to count Madden as a sim league I've been doing this since I was in high school.
League Team years Record Wild Card Division Pennants Titles MSL San Diego Padres 2034-2059 2,217-1,995 1 6 3 1 TBL Arizona Diamondbacks 2005-2018 1,216-1,053 1 9 6 3 TSSL San Diego Padres 2015-2021, 2024-2028 1,017-928 0 7 3 2 TSSL Texas Rangers 2029-2033 396-414 0 0 0 0
I can't remember if it was 2017ish in MSL or the beginning of HSL, but it was right around then.
I tried a Madden sim league once and really disliked it.
League Team Record Wild Card Division Pennants Titles MSL Kansas City Royals (NYY/TB) 3611-3517 1 14 8 7 TBL Cleveland Indians 1084-698 2 5 2 1 HSL Chicago Cubs 2071-1764 1 9 4 1
Probably about 11 years now. The first one I tried to get into was on a really popular baseball board way back when. But they required like 500 posts and like 6 months worth of membership. So I noticed a post about some Red Sox site starting one up. Played there and then found out about one of the sites that Molinas eventually spawned from. Now I'm just here.
Man back then there weren't trade councils and such. Everyone just tried to rip off every new comer. Alot of those leagues lasted a few months at most. Good times haha.
Yeah I don't really exist anymoreMolina - Twins
TSSL - A's
TBL - A's

Bwitty and nygiantsfan got me onto these forums
I've been playing Dynasty mode in NCAA football since 2005, which incidentally is the whole reason the Golden Gophers are one of my favorite teams.... they were the first team I built into a powerhouse ever.
I played Madden dynasty's with friends from time to time through the ages. But Hafdawg got me onto these forums five years ago this month!
Started with the S3SL KC Royals... Made the greatest trade Zito had ever seen... and took the team to the World Series...
I've tried playing with different ways of winning in the game.... most turn to crap. OOTP playoffs and me are not on speaking terms right now.
for ootp, when mission started his league... those first couple years with the yankees were a lesson in PAIN!
i used to do my own sims on nba live back in the day... i started back when william avery and elton brand were draft prospects, i remember that because i had them go 1-2 in a draft one year, after editing the draft prospects into them [or just creating them as players and putting them onto teams]. william avery for the win bitches.
i used to play ncaa and madden all the time. but i didnt really sim... i actually played the games.
This thread made me think of my first ever OOTP trade. It was in HSL with Porter's Mariners. I traded rookie McGwire, who hit 50 homers, for three 5.0 prospects who all turned out to be nothing. I thought I won that trade by far at first

I remember win the nba finals with a SL of Boumtje-Boumtje, KG, Eddie Griffin, Artest, and Andre Miller. My entire front court averaged 10 or more rpg plus 2 or more bpg. Griffin was a beast in some simulators and patches.
I never really did sim leagues besides Madden with friends. CRF directed me to this site and another one when the Reds AOL board was dieing and I got my first taste in the original SBSL where I rode a like 3 4 5 Jon Lieber to the World Series to be utterly demolished by the original evil empire (of sim leagues) MattyMo's Cardinals. Mission gave me an opportunity after that to take over a Twins franchise that was a complete mess in I think 2010 (Kotter was my first every draft pick). Since then I've been in about every other sim league ran on this site.

"Oh, don't mind me, I'm rebuilding now" then you win at least 80 games

I started in 2003. High Heat 2k3 with Witlon.
High Heat 2002, Porter. So we started in '01.
Edgar Martinez in Colorado...awesomeness.
I did a bunch of High Heat leagues in the bid 2000s before I started in Mission's league. I didn't want to have to learn OOTP's tendencies when High Heat didn't have floating ratings, so you knew what you were getting.
Didn't someone try an NBA Sim before the move to Strike3/Slant on the nbaforums or something?
