I cracked and bought it. I've only had it for about an hour now and my first impression of the new interface is that it is really nice.
Pretty excited.

White Sox probably have the best farm top to bottom
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!

The Padres were ranked #1 by mlb.com therefore they’re the most relevant source.

You guys are making me ashamed to be an Oriole fan... Maybe I should go with the Nats this time??? Or does it really matter after the first 10 seasons...
I'll take the White Sox, I like the AL and all

im gonna suggest you dont start a league til you get more familiar with the game and the settings and what not... you dont wanna get 2 years in and tinkering with things and then shit goes haywire.
either way ill take a team whenever you do start one.
I appreciate it. I do have quite a bit of experience with the game offline.. I've bought 16, 17, 18 and now 19 and have done quite a few offline leagues with just myself and it's been a blast.
Seeing as how I can't get the settings figured out for the online league, I don't imagine a new league would be up and running in the real near future lol. Plus, once I do get it all figured out, I would definitely make sure I did some test runs and everything before going live.

I just bought OOTP 19 and I'm tinkering with the settings. Its a lot easier than 16 was.
2003 Hybrid World Champion (115-47 reg season, 11-4 playoffs)
TBL: Anaheim Angels 2006-present (238-244 regular season, 1 division title)
MSL: St Louis Cardinals 2013-present (2734-2936 regular season, 5 division titles, 2 championships)
TSSL: Seattle Mariners 2006-2029, Pittsburgh Pirates 2030-present (209-277, 5 division titles w/SEA, 1 championship w/SEA)
While currently working with my test sims this is what I've learned.
* Ratings at 1-20 shows much better separation of talent and I like the fact that the computer makes players with a maxed out 20 rare in the game.
* This game is better with the waivers, compensation and rule V than 16 and OOTP 8 (boy that was a disaster)
* The scouting system has to be off if you're doing online leagues. There is no other way around it unless every GM in the league has the game.
* Free Agency is a year round thing in this same so I would have to make more FA periods then MSL.
* I haven't messed with the All-Star Voting stuff yet. I don't think its like OOTP 8 or 16.
* The default hitting, aging and pitching settings are close to the current season so Id leave it alone.
* The league evolution thing is pretty damn good with adding-subtraction of DL Length, DH Rules and Active Roster stuff. But it likes to expand the league. Trying to see if I can leave that feature out on his own. (edit: I can turn that feature off.)
