Like I said, it's a matter of perspective.
I mean, I get that if I were to resim the same season 100 times the 82 win team isn't going to win the WS more than maybe once.
But at the end of the day that's the end goal of the season and it seems like highway robbery to me for a team to accomplish that and still pick in the middle of the draft.

If a 100 win team is missing the playoffs they obviously have some mighty difficult competition to deal with and can use the help.
The draft is a crapshoot with development anyway. One of the league's best pitchers was a 3rd round draft pick.

Ok... I can't hold back any longer. MLB is a 162 game season. The best records almost always go to the best and deepest teams. We all know the playoffs are a crap shoot. Trendy's position in this debate holds the most logic, in my humble opinion. Conversely, football is 16 regular season games where there is much less difference between the top and bottom teams.
The higher draft pick does not need to go to the unluckiest team, but the weakest team. Sometimes the weaker team gets lucky and wins the World Series.

That's not the point. It's not just the 24th pick, it's the 17th-24th picks.

I really don't care which way the order is, but, the draft is based on the previous season, yes? Nothing else? Not a one time or spanning occurrence? Then why shouldn't the WS winner pick last? Sure it may be a fluke, and that's the counter balance. The goal of baseball after making money is to win it all. If you win it all, you've succeeded. The draft is a reflection of that fact. That's why there's a yearly draft and a season played every year.

Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.

Let's just do away with the draft and the playoffs. Problem solved.
