Not testy, I was called out by someone and made my opinion clear.. I don't call that testy, well informed. And no, I don't get paid to do any of this either, it us a hobby..or maybe a passion...that I spend extra time on. To get called out as surprising that Scherff of all players was a surprise to go after my pick was a subject I felt worth discussing. Scherff is the top player in many early lists, but watching film he is probably my 4th ranked OT behind Flowers, Peat and Collins. As for a power blocking scheme that relies on having a single man and knocking him on his ass, Scherff would be my top ranked guard in that respect... The others are too good at what they do to waste their talent anywhere but tackle.Again, my opinion..

Is DGB projected as a first rounder? I know the "trouble" label has been fixed to him, but I don't know exactly what he did wrong and I've heard everywhere from 2nd to 6th round projections for him. Heard talent-wise he was better than or on-par with Amari Cooper. I guess the tough thing about drafting isn't so much whether or not you think a guy is worthy of a high pick, but whether or not everyone else does (ie. can you get him for a lower pick because no one else will take him high). This draft is supposedly loaded with wideouts like last year, but nabbing the most talented guy is always good.

You've gone full Rick Spielman. I approve!

I feel like I should trade back into the first just to be true to the Vikings, but I don't really think the value is there.

No arrest in case involving Dorial Green-Beckham of Missouri Tigers - ESPN

ST. LOUIS -- A police investigation of a suspected burglary involving Missouri wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham has been closed without an arrest, primarily because of reluctant witnesses who fear retaliation and harassment for bringing a criminal complaint.

Coach Gary Pinkel announced the junior receiver's indefinite suspension Monday for an unspecified violation of team rules.

On Thursday, Columbia police reported they can't proceed with a case that began early Sunday when an 18-year-old Missouri student said Green-Beckham forced open her apartment door at 2:30 a.m. while trying to see his girlfriend, a friend of the victim.

The woman said Green-Beckham pushed her down at least four stairs.

Another roommate told police the 6-foot-6, 225-pound athlete pushed the first woman with two hands to the chest. But later that night, the two told a detective they didn't want to press charges.

Dorial Green-Beckham domestic violence case raised at NFL combine - NFL - SI.com

The wide receiver was the nation's No. 1 high school recruit in 2012 when he committed to his in-state school, Missouri. At that point, he was the prized recruit with a tragic backstory—in and out of foster care, adopted by his high school coach, a little brother battling leukemia—but a clear path to the NFL in front of him.

Two years later, he was gone. After multiple drug-related arrests and failed drug tests, Green-Beckham finally reached the limit of what Missouri coach Gary Pinkel would tolerate when he was accused of forcibly entering his girlfriend’s apartment and pushing a woman down a flight of stairs. Pinkel greased the way for a transfer to Oklahoma, but the NCAA waiver that Green-Beckham hoped for never came down, and he never played a down for the Sooners.

    There you go.

...and Cleveland gets a guy who can beat a 1-on-1, good pick.

I was surprised Jaelen Strong went ahead of Breshad Perriman. Just kidding. Group Hug.

Well it's a good thing the Falcons have a premier young LT already so that Scherff can either play RT or G depending on how the final roster shakes out. Scherff in my opinion is more valuable b/c of Zach Martin. A versatile guy who can play both inside and out at a high level is worth a lot more to teams than a guy like Flowers who plays 1 position and his worst trait is pass protection. That's just my opinion after watching a lot of tape as well.

Saying all that this is why different teams have different grades on guys and opinions are usually all over the map in regards to player evaluation. It doesn't mean 1 person is wrong and the other is right, it's just a difference in opinion.

If you look at pretty much every mock he's going somewhere in the middle of the first round. 14-25, around that area.

I wouldn't take him in the Top 30, personally, because of the off the field stuff. On the other hand, I could argue he's the best WR in this draft class, on pure talent and potential. He feels like a better pick for a one year league than a long term venture, at least to me.

Hey, I'm from Southern Illinois, too. What can I say?

As a Bears fan I feel like we don't really have a choice if we take Shelton anymore unless one of the elite talents fall. I think Pace has the image of us being the most versatile defense in the league, which is why he went with Mcphee who can literally play any position in the front 7 and why he wants to try Houston at OLB instead of End. This is a really a cool idea, but it means we're super depleted at NT, with Shelton we could line up Fergeson and Ratliff on either side, and then Houston and Mcphee on the edges and at the very least we'd have the heaviest front 7 in the league...

Personally, the dream is still that Mariota goes 2, Williams falls to 4, and we make a deal with the Raiders so they can trade back and still get the WR of their choice plus a pick, and we grab Williams.

But yes, I think Shelton is worth the 7th.

I wasn't really trying to call you out, if it seemed that way then that's my bad, I was just honestly surprised because I do pay attention to experts and the only that seems to be as high on him as you were is Walterfootball & co. and even they like Scherff just as much. That second point on the tape I pointed out, I disagree with what you say happened, there's just no way in my mind that the scheme was supposed to have a RB block Gregory on his own, I think Flowers missed his assignment, especially since he was trying to pass on rushers that weren't there. But hey, Flowers has a ton of potential, really to me his 2 flaws are lower body strength and honestly to me he had a little bit of lack of focus... but I'm super high on a guy that has terrible focus problems so I'm kind of a hypocrite.

To me, Scherff is going to be a Pro-Bowl RT, but I like that you did your own thing.

At the risk of getting myself in trouble again, I'm surprised. It makes sense with the Julio trade, and DGB has all the upside. But I thought the Falcons would go DL like Malcolm Brown or Eddie Goldman just to really beef up that defense that always seemed to be the one dragging the team down.
