Brandon Linder, Guard, Miami U.

With our last pick, it was our determination that the position that needed the most depth was guard. We have three starting caliber guards on the roster currently but two of them are over 30. Therefore it was our determination that getting a solid, young backup to groom is very important for our roster. Brandon has showed a lot of positives while playing the last four years at Miami U. What drew us to him more than any other guard was his versatility along the entire offensive line. He has the size and length to line up at either guard or tackle for us. He also has good foot speed for a guard, making him proficient in pulling and blocking for the running back. He also exhibits a good punch and hand skills when dealing with pass rushers at the line of scrimmage. His techniques can clearly be cleaned up and improved in order for him to start, but the New York Giants organization is very satisfied with this selection and look for Brandon to be a contributer for a very long time.

Deion Belue, CB, Alabama

STRENGTHS: Better than the sum of his parts. Belue is able to be successful because of his desire to win body positioning during the route and at the catch point to make a play on the ball. He can get his hips turned with his aggressive demeanor, but has the footwork to quickly recover and collect himself. Belue does need to clean up his tackling technique, but he isn't shy to attack the run with his competitive presence on the outside. Showed impressive toughness in 2013, gritting it out to start 11 games despite suffering a foot injury which caused him to miss practice throughout much of the season.

WEAKNESSES: Doesn't have elite NFL size (5-11, 183) and can be overwhelmed with bigger wide receivers. Relies on his positioning and awareness, leaving him little appreciable upside for the next level. Willing to do his part in the running game but doesn't stick his head into the action when unnecessary, recording just three assisted tackles on the year.
COMPARES TO: Tony Carter, Denver Broncos - Belue's lack of size will have to be made up for with toughness and reliability in coverage, traits that have helped the cat-quick 5-09, 175-pound Carter carve out a solid six-year career in the NFL, thus far
