The Bears made good on their promise to “explore trade options” for Brandon Marshall, by trading him.According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, they’vedealt the mercurial wideout to the Jets.
The Colts and Browns had also shown interest, but the Jets make sense on a number of levels.
First, they need players. And his going to New York to tape a weekly television appearance won’t be as much of an issue when he’s already there.

I doubt Geno is the season-long plan. They'll either sign a vet to compete with him or they'll draft someone with the intent of plugging them in as soon as Geno sucks too much again.

Is there anyone there that you'd honestly want? Their best bet is either taking Mariota at 6, or trading the pick to the Eagles for Nick Foles and more picks.

Supposedly during his senior year, there was a lovers triangle between Geno, Tavon, and another gal. We were 5-0 at that point ...Geno just doesn't have -it- to have a chance. It's not surprising he hasn't improved really in any area. Even with weapons, at best, you might get a game or two where he puts up big stats but it seems pretty pointless to have all those receivers and no one to throw to them.

I'd take a shot on Hoyer, Locker (Sanchez, if I was any team but the Jets), or draft Mariota, or Winston, or Brett Hundley, or Bryce Petty. Geno Smith cannot play 16 games for this year's New York Jets, or fans will burn the stadium down.

But if none of those players are going to be much better you're just as bad off going after them in desperation.

Not with Hoyer, perhaps, but there's still upside with Locker. At least he's shown flashes, unlike Geno. Personally, I'd go the draft route, but I can't speak for the Jets org.

I'm not saying they shouldn't take a shot at anyone that's available, draft or otherwise. I'm just saying that if they go after that QB it should be because they think he could succeed, not because he's not Geno Smith.
