"Last night the Jets became the first team in NFL History to have 40+ minutes in time of possession, 200+ yds rushing, zero turnovers and lose the game"

    woo, history makers!

So Harvin effectively ends the Salas era
    Marshall: MILSWANCAs?

Can't say I've ever noticed it. And if they do, honestly, that's pretty dumb. Refs don't warn you if you line up offside, or scream out "don't catch it" if a receiver steps out of bounds and comes back in. Your job is to call the penalty if/when it happens, not stop it from happening.

This is a more common thing than you'd think. Officials are not in the business of helping players get out of a penalized position — other than, say, letting a wide receiver know if he's offsides when they ask — but they are in the business to help protect the safety of the game as best they can. That's really what happened here. Although Hightower was off the line, he did bubble the long snapper, and the referee's judgment was that Hightower could have compromised Purdum's healthy had he rushed from his head-up position.
Here's an example of another referee on another crew doing the same thing in the Carolina Panthers-Cincinnati Bengals game from last Sunday:

i noticed it last night too, like mach said, thats typical protocol. ive seen that plenty of times, especially on field goals/xps. id love to pass that off as the reason the jets lost... but meh.

    Sheesh...dude is all out.

Charlie Johnson getting bullrushed by Whitehead had me cackling for a few minutes, though.

so... that 2nd round rumor was bullshit?

"Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Jets agreed to give the Seahawks a sixth-round draft pick in 2015 that, with certain conditions, could become a fourth-rounder. Those conditions are not yet known."

Jimmy Graham is active. Might want to get Josh Hill out of your lineups, because the TD chances just dwindled.
