FSU won't fall out if they beat Tech. Plus Tech is now their best opponent this season and would be their best win. If they win. But running the triple option like they do can be brutal and FSU's D is not super. Tech is certainly playing for a New Years bowl. I can see an easy upset..

But is it really a great argument for them to be in the final 4 if they lose once they finally meet a really good opponent?

A lot of it depends on other outcomes, of course, but I don't see them in if they lose.

I wouldn't keep them in, and I'm a biased FSU supporter lol. I think their schedule just wasn't good enough, since Notre Dame turned to shit and Clemson maybe wasn't as good as initially thought. I would take OSU and Baylor over them at that point. If Arizona wins, I'd take them too. I think if they lose, they'd fall to 7/8. Them dropping while winning from 2 to 4 is telling to me, that they will plummet after their first loss (unlike ole miss and miss state when they first lost)

I'd probably give Wisconsin a nod.

Alabama, Arizona, Wisconsin...and it's the 4th team I struggle with. G.Tech is probably a good candidate in that scenario if they're blowing FSU out.

arizona, missouri, kansas state and georgia tech, i would suppose. everybody would have two losses except fsu, who has escaped so many losses this year so theyre on thin ice anyway... losing the acc would take them out, despite the 1 loss. and then the 3 conference winners. kstate, tcu and baylor would have all beaten each other... and baylor and tcu would then have 2 losses in the big 12, so go kstate. missouri won the toughest conference on the planet somehow. arizona would have beaten oregon twice. georgia tech is the toughest, you could go with wisconsin. but i just love the potential idea of a triple option team winning the national title. bringing it back to 95!

Although, looking at the schedules, Michigan State lost to better teams so I wouldn't hate that.

Mizzou is ranked to low to have a chance. Wisconsin might be too. That's why I went with Michigan state, since they're 8th

id be fine dumping missouri altogether for wisconsin. in this crazy ass scenario with everyone losing, being your conference champ is important... thus why id go wisconsin over michigan state. plus having no sec teams would perhaps make the south secede again.
