Verlander, who has allowed four runs in 11 2/3 innings this spring, might be baseball's best pitching prospect with Felix Hernandez no longer eligible for the title. However, he did struggle in his two starts in the majors last season and there's no way of knowing whether he's ready to throw 190-200 innings in the majors. He was done after 130 innings last year, getting shut down with shoulder soreness in August. Expect flashes of brilliance and mixed results in the end.
