The Tigers desperately need these guys back if they are to get back to the top of the Central.Joel Zumaya and Fernando Rodney, both dealing with shoulder injuries, made their last extended spring training starts Saturday.
Zumaya's fastball was clocked at 97 mph. Rodney's was down to 93, but his changeup apparently looked excellent. Zumaya will start his rehab assignment next week at Single-A Lakeland, while Rodney will get going at Triple-A Toledo. "Knock on wood, if they don't have any setbacks, they'll both be back in June," manager Jim Leyland said.
