Willis is back in the Tiger uniform after a rehab stint in AAA. Willis which I honestly don't agree with is sending him to the pen. He has pitched in the minors and should be more than ready to get back into the rotation. For a team that is struggling to say the least, there off season pickup with the large contract should be starting games NOT coming out of the pen.
Here is a little info on the minors games he pitched in. Willis, on the disabled list because of a hyperextended right knee since April 12, went 1-1 with 4.41 ERA in three rehab starts at Triple-A Toledo. He won his most recent start after allowing a run and five hits while striking out four in six innings Saturday at Columbus. The ERA of 4.41 might be higher than normal but he was hurt so you can judge him on that. I would look at the last game where he struck out five and allowed one earned run.
Finally if Willis is healthy and pitches like he can the Tigers just might be able to get hot and win the division.
