Hawkins as the main setup guy is a horrible idea. The Tigers need to do better than this. I don't mind him be a 6th or 7th inning guy. This will help the Tigers but only if isn't the main guy you go to towards setting up Jones.There are indications that the Tigers have offered LaTroy Hawkins a multi-year contract, according to the Detroit Free Press.
With Joel Zumaya out until midseason following shoulder surgery, Hawkins could fill a setup role in front of closer Todd Jones.
