Ha. When I run a sim league, I'm going to intentionally make Bubba really good but put him with someone who'd never deal him to Dry. It'll be fun

    Bullshit. He clearly belongs in.

I'm not dishonoring Bubba, I love as much as anyone (besides you)
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Walker was a five tool player no doubt. He was an underrated base runner too.

It sucks that gets overlooked in this Dinger-Craving society. People know Ryan Howard opposed to more rounded players who bring "more" to their team. Howard strikes out more than DirtyKash at the bar on Ladies Night. That's ok though, he hits the long ball and plays east of the Mississippi.

I understand your points. The point is that defense does not get you into the Hall of Fame. And ya know what, his stats weren't there. Stop bullshitting with the East Coast bias and the idea that people love HR. They may be true, but thats not whats stopping Walker. His stats are just a bit short of where they would need to be

We're not saying it doesn't matter, we're saying it won't play enough of a factor to make him a hall of famer

I'm pretty sure Dry showed that on stats alone he should be considered. I really just wanted to talk about DK striking out .

And that's what I think is bullshit. Almost along the lines of Ryan "I wear a frying pan at 3rd Base" Braun winning ROY over Tulo. I just don't get how a lot of the fundamentals for the game are undervalued compared to more of the "showy" side of the game. Consider me a pretty old-school 21 year old.

To a certain extent I agree with you. The thing is, I don't think the Walker's defense was enough to make up for his slightly low offensive numbers. Ozzie Smith did not have great offensive numbers, but being the greatest ever at one of the most difficult defensive positions on the field managed to put him over the top. I just don't believe that Walker's defense was THAT good that it makes the difference between HoF and not.

Ozzie Smith got in on his defense.

Maybe didn't totally discredit it, but they definitely place a lot less value on it which I don't believe is correct.
